Yellow Piennolo del Vesuvio Italian Tomato Premium Seed Packet
$3.99
Description
Grown in the rich, volcanic soil surrounding Mount Vesuvius near Naples, this iconic tomato is legendary for its traditional storage method.
The small, oval fruits feature a distinctive pointed nipple at the blossom end. Thanks to their high dry-matter content and thick skins, they keep extraordinarily well through the fall and winter. Harvested directly on the vine, whole clusters are woven into hanging ropes called ristras—“piennolo” meaning “pendant” or “hanging” in the Neapolitan dialect.
