For the last few years, we have been trying to track down real Calabrian peppers. It's not been easy, and the reason why....there's a lot of peppers grown in Calabria! Some are round, some are short (such as the variety Diavolicchio), but we are selling here what we believe to be the closest to what our European friends consider to be THE Calabrian pepper.

Funny enough, our seeds from this were sourced from a bag of dried ground pepper in a giveaway from a really neat pizza place, Mortadella Head, located in Somerville, MA. (You can see their video of this giveaway if you Google "mortadella head calabrian pepper"). These peppers grew out beautifully, evenly and we are excited to now offer them to you.
